RESEARCH CENTER
for Narrative and Cinema
The Centro di Ricerca Narrativa e Cinema was created in 1978 by the will of a group of professionals, experts, and media professionals who formed a non-profit association with the purpose of promoting cultural initiatives with a focus on cinema.
The Efebo d’Oro is the main event the Centro organizes and it has been growing to the point of becoming one of the leading cinema prizes due to its original format and prestigious guests who bring prestige to each edition.
The Centro is particularly attentive to building a strategic relationship with school pupils by organizing seminars, talks, and reserving film screenings for them. In parallel to film screenings, the Centro organizes meetings and talks with experts, directors, literature scholars, and film critics to gain a more in-depth knowledge about, and investigate the connections between, the cinema and literature.
The four thousand books on the cinema and literature testifying to the work the Centro has done so far have been donated to the Regional Library ‘Luigi Pirandello’ in Agrigento.
