Inside a concrete courtyard, women dressed in colorful garments whisper prayers in many different languages on or off screen, they arrange themselves in a circle, they kneel down, they dream of what is beyond the wall. The unpublished short film by director Chiara Agnello and artist Stefania Galegati Shines arises from a creative workshop carried out with the inmates of the Pagliarelli prison in Palermo. “We are all the same”, is murmured almost in secret, and thus a collective portrait of a closed but full of hope vitality is painted before our eyes.
