Eight women from Pirandello’s life speak, engaging in direct conversations with the viewer: his mother, his companions, his lovers and his daughter. They are not witnesses to a trial, but rather opportunities for plurality. Different perspectives on the life of the great writer and playwright from Agrigento.
Costanza Quatriglio builds an immersive cinematic structure, which, through costumes and sets from the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries, gives voice to those who never had one, or only partially had one. Luigi Pirandello wanders like a ghost among the words of actresses such as Ester Pantano, Matilde Gioli and Donatella Finocchiaro, while the patriarchal society of the time manifests itself as an inexhaustible bearer of inequality between men and women.
